Do you believe in god?

Pretty straight forward topic, Do you believe in god? If so, Why? I personally do not, Their is no facts to say he ever existed. Theirs the bible and thats about it, The bible to me is just a novel. As much a novel as Moby Dick. I could rant for pages on this but I just wanna get your guys opinion, Hopefully find someone that believes in god and can give me a straight answer as to why.

Why believe in something that you don't believe in? Faith is only when you believe a bit at least. You should be free to choose to believe in God or not.

When I think about it, everything's fucked up. How humans started. How the planets came. Etc etc etc. There's both religious and scientific explanations.

I very much believe in God. However, as like most people, there are things in the Bible that I agree with and others that I do not. For instance, I do not believe that Earth was created in seven days; I believe that the Big Bang Theory is the best explaination to Earth's creation. However, I also believe that Earth is too beautiful a place to have been a coincidence.

Think about it this way, even if God didn't create the world in seven days like the Bible tells, how did the "big bang" take place? Personally, a lot of the time I wonder how space itself was formed. I believe that God is responsible for us, and the many species that came before us. But what made God?

How we all started, I dunno what my opinion is on that. I havent really thought about it that hard and havent read anything I truly believe. But thats not what im asking, Im asking do you believe there is a god now. Someone or something that is watching over you, That is keeping tabs on you and if you were good enough in your lifetime get to go to heaven.

Thats my thing, I can somewhat understand if you believe in god because it gives you hope. Hope that after you die you dont just lie in the ground, That your daily activities that you did throughout your life get you into this amazing place called heaven. God is Hope, Thats how I see it. Ugh im tired, 2am here right now.

Its really hard to word my question properly. I wanna know why you believe in god today, Not how earth was created or how we all came about. What purpose does god serve to you now? That is if you believe in him at all.

I believe in God because I have faith that there is a place for me after I die, other than the ground. Look at it this way, if you go your whole life believing there is a God, and it turns out that there actually is a God and you go to Heaven, what energy have you wasted opposed to not believing and going to Hell? Whether you believe or you don't, there's no real work to it.

You know what mythology is? Like the Greek and Roman myths. It was their religion. They uses to believe in different Gods. Like God of Water, God of War, etc. But what happened now? Do they still believe in it? No. Why? Well of course they smartened up. Now they don't go for that kind of BS.

Are the religions of this age just like the "myths"? Think!

By not believing I dont think I will go to hell, I wont go anywhere. My "Soul" Wont move on to a better place. I'm dead, Hopefully I lived a good life and enjoyed it. Again, I can understand if you believe in god because it gives you hope. Hope that at the end of the day your life isn't meaningless, I think living your life that way is crazy. Its like a mindset that says life is a test, You pass or fail and how you chose to live your life decides your afterlife outcome. Thats crazy to me, I dont believe in god, nor an afterlife.

What if you spend your life believing in god and living a certain way, Then when you die you find out there is nothing for you. Isn't that a lifetime of wasted effort? Its great to live your life trying to be the best, nicest person you can be, But why do you have to put faith in a "god" for you to act that way?
One last thing, John so whats your main reason in believing in god? An Afterlife?

I really can't explain why I believe in God. It's just the way I've always lived. I'd like to believe that there is life after death. I'd like to know that living each day of my life on Earth isn't a lost cause.

Yea its a comforting feeling to people to think that way. I still dont believe it though, Imma live my life to the fullest.
